Stylist Spotlight: Q&A with Misty Jayne

Misty Jayne is not just a stylist but an action taker and problem solver.

With almost 2 decades of experience in the beauty industry. Misty has learnt quite a bit - especially about debt. She went from working paycheck to paycheck to becoming a debt-free stylist, and now coaches beauty professionals on personal money management as well. She teaches how to have a healthy relationship with your income to become successful and still have clients that light you up.

In the salon, Misty specializes in low-maintenance color and a “sucker” for seamless grow-out.

“My biggest AHA moment has been how segregated salons actually are when it comes to race, gender and even body types! I’ve learned so many different ways to make a more welcoming space for everyone!I joined the beauty collective because having people feel welcome and included is very important to me. I wanted to make sure anyone who hires me behind the chair or as a coach feels that they are in a safe place to be the unique human that they are.”

Misty advises that You have all the power inside of you to create the life you want but first you have to believe you deserve it. So have the hard conversations, start messy and stay consistent.
